Trade Apprentice (Bricklaying / Site Carpentry)
A career at Barratt Redrow means finding a place you can call home. We’re building tomorrow together.
What you'll be doing?
The Trade Apprenticeship Programme is an 18-month Intermediate Trade Apprenticeship (Level 2) designed to train you to become a fully qualified Tradesperson. You will split your time between practical on-site work with our subcontractors 4and structured residential training blocks at college.
As a Bricklayer, you will be expected to:
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other building components in mortar to construct and repair various structures.
- Work on walls, foundations, arches, and other structures as a core function in the housebuilding sector.
- Strive to deliver excellence working outdoors on site, ensuring quality work is produced using your hand skills.
As a Site Carpenter, you will be expected to:
- Work with building materials, primarily wood, to create and install building components.
- Shape and cut materials, install finished materials like doors, window frames, mouldings, and timber flooring.
- Assist in erecting structural components such as roof trusses and floor joists.
You will attend 10 one-week residential training blocks at one of our partner colleges (Stephenson College or York College), with accommodation, meals, and travel expenses covered. If you are thriving, you may have the opportunity to progress to the Advanced Trade Apprenticeship (Level 3) qualification.

- A Desire to Learn: Show a desire to learn, grow, and succeed in a new trade15.
