Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst – Accounts to support financial and accounting operations through advanced data analysis, reporting, and business insights. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Audit, and Business teams to analyze financial data, improve reporting accuracy, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and expertise in data management and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze accounting and financial data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial operations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities through data validation and reconciliation analysis.
• Monitor financial transactions and account balances to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to streamline reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, anomalies, and data inconsistencies.
• Generate ad hoc analyses and financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions for accounting and financial reporting needs.
• Develop automated reporting solutions to reduce manual effort and improve reporting accuracy.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing accurate financial data and analytical support.
• Maintain documentation for financial reporting processes, business rules, and data governance standards.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on financial data analysis best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, accounting analytics, or business intelligence roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting processes.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing financial data.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, financial modeling, and complex formulas.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and financial data integration.
• Experience with Python, R, or automation tools for financial reporting.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to financial reporting.
