Job Summary
The Senior Director – Information Technology (IT) is responsible for defining and executing the organization's technology strategy, ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and efficiency of IT systems and services. This leadership role oversees IT operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, digital transformation initiatives, and technology governance while aligning IT capabilities with business objectives. The Senior Director partners closely with executive leadership to drive innovation, operational excellence, and organizational growth through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the organization's IT vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology investments, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that create business value and competitive advantage.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee enterprise IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, data centers, and end-user computing.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of critical business systems and services.
- Establish and monitor service delivery standards, SLAs, and IT performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize IT operations and reduce operational risks.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy and governance framework.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, security standards, and organizational policies.
- Oversee incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk mitigation programs.
- Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and legal teams on security and governance matters.
Enterprise Applications & Technology Solutions
- Oversee implementation, integration, and support of enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, and collaboration platforms.
- Ensure technology solutions effectively support business requirements and future growth.
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
Leadership & Talent Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT managers, architects, engineers, analysts, and support teams.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Drive workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and technology investment plans.
- Optimize IT spending while maintaining service quality and operational effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, licensing agreements, and vendor partnerships.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure delivery of agreed service levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading enterprise IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise architecture, networking, systems administration, and IT service management.
- Experience managing large-scale IT programs, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success aligning technology strategy with business objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration (MBA), Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISM, AWS, Azure, TOGAF, or equivalent.
- Experience with digital transformation, enterprise modernization, AI/automation, and data-driven initiatives.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific standards.
