Key responsibilities
Application Development: Write clean, scalable, and efficient code for web applications using Python and the Django framework.
Back-end Component Development: Create back-end components, including RESTful APIs, to improve application responsiveness and performance.
Database Management: Design and create database schemas, and manage database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Front-end Integration: Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Testing and Debugging: Write and execute tests, debug programs, and ensure functionality across different browsers.
Security and Performance: Implement security measures to protect against common attacks and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Collaboration and Communication: Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Maintenance and Support: Provide support and ongoing development for existing projects and maintain code quality through peer reviews.
Technical Documentation: Document development processes, architecture, and standard components.
Required skills and qualifications
Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python.
Web Frameworks: Extensive experience with the Django framework. Knowledge of other frameworks, like Flask, can be beneficial.
Database Technologies: Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite.
Version Control: Experience with version control tools, particularly Git.
Front-end Fundamentals: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
APIs: Experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Other Skills: Familiarity with object-relational mapping (ORM), multi-process architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS can be advantageous.
